I search for you and find you, Lord, in silence in the wilderness. Beyond the earthquake, wind and fire beyond the me I must confess. What twisted route has brought me here to sit, where all is colourless? Is it my fear, or sin or loss? Why meet me in your wilderness? I lay my questions in the dust and wait. The quiet stillness sings of you, who works in perfect peace and brings new life from hidden springs. Then hope drops down on barren sand ‘till arid places flood with rain and wilderness becomes a womb to birth your joy in me again.
